Leland "Rocky" Rockstraw, Ph.D., RN, is the Director of the Center for Clinical and Electronic Learning Resources and the Center for Interdisciplinary Clinical Simulation and Practice at Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A native of Rhode Island, he is a graduate of University of Nebraska, Central Michigan University, University of Southern Alabama, and Drexel University School of Education. In 2006, Dr Rockstraw completed his PhD in Educational Leadership Development and Learning Technologies. He also completed a Biomedical Informatics Fellowship from the National Library of Medicine and Marine Biological Laboratory in 2004.
Dr Rockstraw is active in several professional organizations and serves as VP of Finance for the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning and Treasurer for the Nu Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. Dr Rockstraw is also a member of the Association of Standardized Patient Educators, the Society for Medical Simulation, the American Nursing Informatics Association, the American Nurses Association, Pennsylvania State Nurse’s Association, and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Dr Rockstraw has presented nationally on a variety of nursing, health sciences, simulation, management and learning resource center topics. He serves on the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board, Pennsylvania Center for Health Careers Clinical Education Task Force.
