Lisa Johnson-Ford, DrNP, CRNP, is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Dr. Johnson-Ford received her BSN from Wilkes University and her MSN as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Johnson-Ford obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Drexel University in 2011. Her research focuses on surrogate end-of-life decision making within minority populations in the acute care setting. Professor Johnson-Ford’s doctoral research utilized a qualitative approach known as Ethnonursing.
Dr. Johnson-Ford is board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and has practiced in the areas of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Bone Marrow Transplant Intensive Care Medicine, and Infectious Disease. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner Dr. Johnson-Ford worked throughout the Northeast in the areas of Transplant ICU nursing, medical ICU nursing, and trauma ICU nursing.
She maintains an ACNP practice with Eastern Pennsylvania Infectious Disease Specialists focusing on inpatient management of patients with complicated infections. Dr. Johnson-Ford is an active member of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, American College of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
