Mary Ellen Smith Glasgow, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC is a Tenured Full Professor and an Associate Dean for all Nursing and Undergraduate Health Profession Departments and Continuing Nursing Education and is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow. She is responsible for all undergraduate health professions and nursing programs in the college, overseeing over 3300 students and eighteen majors as well curricular, faculty development, institutional and accrediting body quality assessment, and fiscal planning. In her former position as Director of the Undergraduate Nursing Programs, she developed the Accelerated Career Entry, BSN Co-op, and RN-BSN Online Programs. Her research interests include bone marrow donation in minorities and leadership development in nursing education and practice.
Dr. Glasgow received a MSN Degree from Villanova University and PhD from Duquesne University, School of Nursing. She was selected to attend the prestigious Bryn Mawr College and HERS, Mid-America Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration. She is the recipient of several awards in both teaching and practice. She is certified as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Health Nursing by the ANCC and is on the Editorial Board for Holistic Nursing Practice and Oncology Nursing Forum. She also serves as the Associate Editor for Oncology Nursing Forum responsible for the Leadership and Professional Development Feature. She also oversees the Continuing Nursing Division which hosts three to four national conferences per year. Dr. Glasgow has published over 50 journal articles, has been PI or Co-PI on many funded projects, and has delivered over 100 national and international presentations. Dr. Glasgow is also a Trustee of Princeton HealthCare System in Princeton, New Jersey. She was recently selected as a 2009 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow. She is the co-author of two textbooks: Role development for Doctoral Advanced Nursing Practice, a 2011 AJN Book of the Year, and Legal issues confronting today’s nursing faculty: A case-study approach.
