Dorit Golan Breiter, DNP, ARNP, PMHNP-BC is an Assistant Clinical Professor and the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner MSN Program Track Coordinator.
Dr. Breiter is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) specializing in Psychiatry. She holds a National Board Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Adult Psychiatric Mental Health. She is licensed in the state of Florida and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Breiter received her Master’s degree in Nursing in 2001 and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2007 from the University of South Florida. Her area of interest in research is Postpartum Depression, with an emphasis on recognition and treatment.
Dr. Breiter started her career, as a nurse, in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit where she gained a strong foundation in medical practice. She became a psychiatric nurse practitioner after realizing the great need for nurse practitioners who are specialized in helping individuals with mild to severe emotional disorders.
Since 2001, Dr. Breiter has been practicing as a PMHNP in a private practice in Florida. She provides psychiatric medication management and therapy to individuals, couples, and families.
From 2001-2007, Dr. Breiter was a faculty member at the University of South Florida, College of Nursing, in Tampa, FL. She taught in both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Dr. Breiter is a member of NONPF and ISPN. She has been married for over 30 years, has four children, is bilingual, and enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
