R.
Peter Meyer, Ph.D. received his B.S. in Biology from Heidelberg
College in Tiffin, Ohio and his Ph.D. in Anatomy from Temple
University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
His doctoral dissertation examined the neural organization
and axonal connections of the olfactory system in the North
American opossum, using experimental neuroanatomical protocols.
He joined the faculty of Hahnemann University in 1977 to continue
his research interests in comparative mammalian neuroanatomy
and to teach lectures and laboratories in a number of Anatomy
courses. He has served as a faculty advisor for first year
medical and graduate students. He has served as an external
reviewer of manuscripts for publication in the Anatomical
Record and is a Past President of the Humanity Gifts Registry
of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Now a
full-time faculty member of the College of Nursing and Health
Professions, Dr. Meyer continues to teach in several courses
in Human Gross Anatomy to medical students, physical therapy
students and physician assistant students. He also teaches
graduate courses to Creative Arts in Therapy students and
Anatomy and Physiology courses to undergraduate students in
nursing and health professions programs.
