T. Loveland, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Health
Sciences Undergraduate Program. He holds B.S. degrees in Mathematics
and Physics, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics and Atmospheric
Science from Drexel University. Dr. Loveland conducted his
graduate research on surface layer turbulent transport and
its parameterization for numerical weather prediction in the
mesoscale atmospheric dynamics laboratory of Dr. Carl W. Kreitzberg
(recently deceased). Before taking a position here in 1995,
he taught Math and Physics courses at USP and CCP for several
years, and was the Faculty Advisor to the Vietnamese Club
at CCP for five years.
Currently,
Professor Loveland is responsible for the teaching and development
of Mathematics, Physics, and when demand warrants it, Astronomy
or other specialized courses. Presently, his primary research
interests lie in the area of improvement in physics instruction,
particularly on waves and sound, and he has recently published
in the Physics Teacher.
