Florence Ierardi, MM, MT-BC, LPC, is the Director of Field Education for the Hahnemann Creative Arts in Therapy Program, where she also teaches Clinical Musical Improvisation. She has practiced music therapy with a variety of populations for over 20 years. She has contributed to the development of innovative music therapy services, such as Home-Based Music Therapy for Older Adults and Safe Expressions, a creative arts therapy intervention for at-risk youth. She has given numerous presentations on music therapy treatment of older adults with multiple medical, cognitive and psychosocial issues at conferences, including the World Congress of Music Therapy, the Pennsylvania Public Health Association and the Education Conference of the Alzheimer's Association. Ms. Ierardi is an experienced drum circle facilitator in community, clinical and corporate settings. She frequently provides educational experiences in this genre for music therapy and music education students, as well as continuing music therapy education for practicing music therapists. She is currently a member of the International Relations Committee of the American Music Therapy Association.
