Robert J. Chapman, PhD, has worked professionally in the alcohol & other drug field for 32 years: From 1974 through 1988 in direct treatment, delivering individual and group counseling services, providing clinical supervision, and conducting training and consulting; from 1988 to 2006 he coordinated the Alcohol and Other Drug Program at La Salle University in Philadelphia where he was associate faculty in the M.A. program in Clinical/Counseling Psychology at La Salle, coordinating its addictions concentration. His areas of professional interest include: Motivational Interviewing and in particular Brief Alcohol Screening & Intervention for College Students; harm reduction; innovative ways to motivate student change. Rowan University has recently published 2 monographs in a three monograph series on collegiate drinking through its Center for Addiction Studies - visit to http://www.rowan.edu/cas/cas/resources_pdf.htm access these publications.
Dr. Chapman is an adopted Seneca Indian, holds an M.S. Ed in Community Counseling from St. Bonaventure University and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Syracuse University.
