Geri Budd is a family nurse practitioner with experience in rural health, family planning, college health, and primary care. Most recently she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Vulnerable Women, Children, and Families in the Center for Health Disparities at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Her research program focuses on family-based behavioral change to prevent and treat childhood obesity. She collaborates with researchers at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Center of Excellence for Adolescent Obesity Treatment. Dr. Budd received her PhD from Duquesne University in 2001, where she received the Dean's Award for her research on College Women's Experience with Eating Disorders. She has taught adult health, community, and primary care nursing both at Penn State University, the University of Stony Brook (SUNY), and St. Joseph's College in CT. In 2004 she was selected to complete a multidisciplinary primary health care fellowship at HRSA's Bureau of Primary Healthcare, in the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services.
