Ms. Buck is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Professions, where she has served as the Director of the Advanced Physician Assistant Studies Program since July 2000. A faculty member in the Physician Assistant Program since January 1985, Ms. Buck was the Program’s undergraduate curriculum coordinator, and directed many of the core PA Program courses prior to developing the current MHS degree curriculum. She is a 1984 (BS degree) and 2000 (MHS degree) graduate of the former Hahnemann University. Her graduate studies were in educational technologies and distance education. Ms. Buck is now pursuing her Doctorate in Public Health at Drexel University's School of Public Health.
Ms. Buck maintains professional affiliations with the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants (PSPA), and the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA). She has authored book chapters in Physician Assistant textbooks, and she has presented workshops, lectures, and poster presentations for Physician Assistant educators nationally. She has been a consultant to the Association of Physician Assistant Programs’ Professional and Technical Help group on curriculum development and enhancement. Ms. Buck serves as a mentor and preceptor for University of Washington and University of Southern California-Davis PA students who express an interest in becoming PA educators through an elective Faculty Development Rotation.
Geraldine Buck has received the Teaching Excellence Award, 2000, the Sherry Stolberg Alumni Award, 2001, and Curricular Innovation Award, 2005.
