Dr. Bloch has been an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner since 1981. She received her BSN from Thomas Jefferson University in 1978; MSN from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981; and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. She conducted pre-doctoral and postdoctoral research fellowships related to vulnerable women, children and their families, and health outcomes and policy.
Dr. Bloch has practiced nursing in a variety of settings: city clinics, HMOs, private practice, and summer camp. Her mission in nursing is to promote optimal health for women and their families through practice, teaching and research. She has participated in federally funded interdisciplinary perinatal epidemiology research teams since completing her doctoral work. Her program of research is related to maternal and infant health outcomes with a particular focus on racial and ethnic perinatal health disparities.
