Barbara
Blair, MSN, APRN, BC, teaches in the Generic BSN Co-operative,
RN-BSN and the ACE Nursing Undergraduate Programs. She received
her Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from
the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Science
in Nursing Degree from La Salle University. She is board Certified
as a Clinical Specialist in Psychiatric and Mental Health
Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
She
recently finished a three-year project as Study Coordinator
for the Philadelphia site of a national, NIH sponsored clinical
drug trial for Huntington’s disease.
She developed
a curriculum for nurses, titled “The development of a Curriculum
for Psychiatric Nurses on Their Role in Employment of People
with Psychiatric Disabilities with The Matrix Research Institute
and The Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research,
of the University of Pennsylvania on a project funded by a grant
from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation
Research to teach mental health professionals to recognize the
importance of work for people with serious mental illness.
Professor Blair maintains a private psychotherapy and coaching
practice, specializing in young adults, couples and families.
She is currently studying “Positive Psychology” with Martin
Seligman’ in his vanguard, Authentic Happiness Coaching course.
