Patrick C. Auth, Ph.D., MS, PA-C, is the Director for the Entry-Level Physician Assistant Program. He is the co-director for Leadership and Stewardship course. He previously was the course director for Emergency Medicine, co-director Principles of Medical Science, Pharmacology, and Foundations of Clinical Medicine. Mr. Auth also was the Director of Clinical Rotations. He continues to lecture on the topics of Ethics, Leadership and Stewardship, Principles of Medical Science, Clinical Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and History Taking courses within the program. He also participates as a seminar leader in the History Taking, Ethics, and Principle of Medical Science courses.  

Mr. Auth has been with the Physician Assistant Program since 1992 as an instructor and as Director of the program since 2000. He graduated from Hahnemann University Physician Assistant Program in 1986 and was awarded a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Syracuse University. He completed a Master of Science degree from Temple University and was awarded a Ph.D in Education, Leadership and Computer Technology from Drexel University in 2005. His primary research interest is in the clinical reasoning of physician assistant students.

Mr. Auth maintains professional affiliations with the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Association of Physician Assistant Programs and the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants. He has presented workshops and poster presentations at the local, state and national levels and is an invited guest lecture for physician assistant programs throughout the state. Additionally, he is the senior editor for the Physician Assistant Review Book and has authored chapters in Clinical Procedures for Physician Assistants, The Physician Assistant Profession, and The Future of Creativity in addition to authoring various journal articles.

Mr. Auth has been appointed by the American Academy of Physician Assistants as a commissioner to the Accreditation Review Commission of Physician Assistant Education.

Clinical: Patrick has practiced in orthopedics, occupational medicine and emergency medicine.
