The First Drexel Doctoral Nursing Candidate!

Ann Townsend, RN, MSN, APRN BC

Ann Townsend, RN, MSN, APRN BC, of Moorestown, NJ became the first doctoral candidate in Drexel’s clinical research Doctor of Nursing Practice (DrNP) program August 30, 2007. Mrs. Townsend is a third year student in the Practitioner Track and the title of her clinical dissertation is “The Association of Weight and Health Promotion Practices of Middle-Aged Women.” She is currently Director of the Outpatient Heart Failure Center at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Camden, NJ and hopes to complete her study and graduate June 2008. Her Supervising Professor is Dr. Kathy Falkenstein and her dissertation committee includes Dr. Geri Budd and Dr. Laura Hayman of New York University.
