of Nursing Practice Program (DrNP): Latest DrNP News! Clinical Nursing Scholar Speaks to Drexel DrNP Class Laura Hayman, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor of Nursing in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies and Public Health in the Steinhardt School of Education at New York University was the featured Invited Clinical Scholar for Drexel’s second Dean’s Doctoral Nursing Colloquia Wednesday March 7th at Drexel University. Dr. Hayman spoke to 23 first and second year doctor of nursing practice (DrNP) students, and to faculty and invited guests on “‘Obesity and cardiovascular disease across the life course: Challenges and opportunities for interdisciplinary science.”
According to Dr. H. Michael Dreher, Director of Doctoral Nursing Programs, “Dr. Hayman is internationally known for her advocacy for a lifespan approach to the prevention and treatment of obesity and its devastating links to cardiovascular disease and stroke. Several of our doctoral students’ clinical dissertations are related to her work and thus she was an outstanding role model for both students and faculty.”
