Summer 2008 Course and Workshop Offerings
The Hahnemann Creative Arts in Therapy Program is pleased to offer an interesting and diverse selection of courses and workshops designed to meet the continuing education needs of practicing professionals in the creative arts therapy fields. The intended audiences are professional creative arts therapists, professional counselors and healthcare professionals, and graduate students in these disciplines. The following graduate level courses will be offered in Summer 2008.
The Hahnemann Creative Arts in Therapy Program of Drexel University is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBC approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP is responsible for all aspects of the program.
Career Counseling
4 quarter credit at $375.00 per credit plus registration fee.
Available for non-matriculated student registration
Instructor: Darlene M. Hannigan, Psy.D.
This introductory course in career counseling covers theory and practice of assessment and counseling of work and career from a lifespan perspective with attention to issues of gender, race, ethics, and individuals with special needs. Includes didactic, experiential and computer-lab based learning methods. This course is recommended for counselors and creative arts therapists who need a career counseling course for state licensure eligibility.

Medical Dance/Movement Therapy
10 hours
Instructor: Sherry Goodill, Ph.D., ADTR, NCC, LPC
Continuing Ed. Fee: $200.00. A certificate of completion will be issued at the end of the workshop.
Available for non-matriculated student registration for one graduate quarter credit. ($375 plus fees)
Dance/movement Therapy is emerging as a useful complementary approach for people with primary medical conditions. Using readings, experiential exercises, lecture, discussion and video, this workshop examines clinical work reported to date, relevant theory from health psychology, psychoneuroimmunology and mind/body perspectives, to motivate programming and research in this area. Continuing Education registration deadline for Medical DMT class: June 10th, 2008. To register, send an email to gmw22@drexel.edu and request a registration form. We will send it by email attachment and with further instructions. This course is available in a 15-hour format for those studying for the alternate route DTR, for a total cost of $275.00. Art Therapy
The Hahnemann Creative Arts in Therapy program is offering two continuing education courses for professionals in Art Therapy in the Summer of 2008. They will be scheduled in a two day format to more readily suit the busy schedules of Summer. They will be eligible to be submitted for Art Therapy continuing education credits with the certificate awarded after completion of the course. The courses cost $275.00 each.
Medical Art Therapy
Instructors: Laura Keenan & Caroline Peterson
This course will cover both pediatric and adult medical art therapy through the use of lecture, case presentation, content relative art experientials and role play. Issues of membership on interdisciplinary teams, working independently, role of the art therapist, individual and group applications, treatment goals, art therapy directives, palliative care, disability and death aspects, etc. will be included.

Forensic Art Therapy
Instructor: Marcia Liebman
The course will offer a comprehensive overview of forensic issues and introduce the concept of forensic art therapy. Legal proceedings, reporting mandates, testimonial capability and evidentiary material will be explored along with specific material relevant to forensic populations and practices. The format will include lecture, discussion and experiential components.
