Dr. Comer
has served in a variety of professional positions, including director
of adult psychiatric outpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization
programs, and children's partial hospitalization and family outpatient
services. Prior to his appointment with the College of Nursing and
Health Professions, Dr. Comer was for eight years a full-time faculty
member in the University's Medical School, Department of Psychiatry,
where he developed and taught a variety of continuing education courses
delivered to interdisciplinary mental health care professionals throughout
Pennsylvania. His research interests include pre-professional and
professional workforce development, and behavioral health care policy
advocacy, particularly at the service delivery level.
