BACS 325 Psychopharmacology for Counselors

Students will gain familiarity with commonly prescribed medications for various disorders, including their effects, side effects, as well as their advantages and limitations. Topics will include the role of pharmacology in the recovery process, working collaboratively with the patient, and other healthcare providers, and the importance of integrating the use of medications into multidisciplinary, psychiatric rehabilitation approaches to treating psychiatric disorders.(3 credits)
