Clinical Skills Lab
The Clinical Skills Lab is located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the New College Building. It is dedicated to the clinical skills training of the College of Nursing and Health Professions. The lab includes a physical therapy exercise and modalities lab, three large rooms with 8 to 10 beds in a hospital-like setting, five three-bed health assessment rooms, three bays with two beds each, a computer lab, and a computer classroom. The Clinical Skills Lab helps to facilitate learning by providing the faculty and students with the setting, models, equipment, and supplies necessary for the acquisition of hands-on clinical skills.
Goals/Mission
Our mission in the Clinical Skills Lab is in keeping with the mission of Drexel University and the College of Nursing and Health Professions. “To serve our students and society through comprehensive integrated academic offerings enhanced by technology, co-operative education, and clinical practice in an urban setting, with global outreach embracing research, scholarly activities, and community initiatives.”
Purpose
The purpose of the Clinical Skills Lab is to offer the students a fully equipped, state-of-the-art environment that promotes clinical practice in a professional setting and fosters learning. Once the skills have been mastered, the students can demonstrate and be evaluated by the faculty of the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
