Hypertension Highlights – ASH 2015

Overview
This program is designed to discuss controversies of the 2014 Hypertension Guidelines. Specific recommendations on diabetes, CKD, age-related treatment goals, racial differences in therapy, and heart disorders with specific requirements will be discussed. Newer concepts in neurogenic blood pressure control, hypertension and orthostatic hypotension, salt-related hypertension and renal sodium reabsorption differences and secondary causes of hypertension, including adrenal disorders, will be presented. Those treating adolescents with hypertension will recognize special diagnostic procedures and treatments. We will discuss newer recommendations for specific indications.

The program is accredited for 5.0 credit hours by the ACCME.

This medical seminar is jointly developed and provided by the Drexel University College of Medicine Division of Nephrology & Hypertension, Hahnemann University Hospital and ASH Delaware Valley Chapter. The seminar will be followed by the annual meeting of the American Society of Hypertension Delaware Valley Chapter to develop future tri-state community clinical outreach and educational programs.

Target Audience
Cardiologists, nephrologists, endocrinologists, neurologists, general internists, family practitioners, all subspecialties, primary care practitioners, CRNP, PA, MA, PharmD and all trainees.
