Ph.D Research Proposal of Marko Janko on Frictional Signatures of Texture During Bare Finger Interactions

 

Abstract

The proposed research is intended to characterize, model, and simulate mechanical signatures of sliding contact between a bare finger and a textured surface. This work will guide the development of new rendering algorithms and display methods for interactively simulating the feel of textured surfaces via a haptic interface.
