Faculty Colloquia Series: Dr. Shmulik Becher

Shmuel Becher is a Senior Lecturer at The College of Management Academic Studies, School of Law.

He received his LL.B., magna cum laude, from Tel Aviv University, where he was a research assistant, a teaching assistant, and an editor of the Tel University Law Review. He earned his LL.M. and J.S.D. from Yale Law School, after clerking for Chief Justice Aharon Barak at the Israeli Supreme Court.

At the School of Law, Dr. Becher is the head of the commercial and civil law section, and head of the pedagogic program. He teaches in the areas of contracts, consumer law, and behavioral law and economics.

He is the founder of the consumer law clinic, which cooperates with the Israeli Consumer Council, a government consumer protection corporation.

His research findings have received considerable media attention by leading Israeli business newspapers Ha'aretz and Globes.

Dr. Becher won a few prizes for his research and teaching. In addition, Dr. Becher serves as the head of the dispute resolution center at The Public Trust, a non-profit organization that works to promote a fair consumer-business environment.
