Our BA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation teaches entrepreneurship as a habit-of-mind that applies to both your career and your life.
Our holistic approach to teaching challenges you to think and act as an entrepreneur within companies, startups, or self-employment. We have developed a curriculum that teaches resilience, collaboration, negotiation, and communication.
We stress interdisciplinary work and flexibility with all Drexel schools through the required academic minor and offer students experiential learning through Drexel’s acclaimed Co-op program, including the opportunity to apply to our unique Entrepreneurship co-op (where you can work on your startup). Students will also have access to the Baiada Institute for Entrepreneurship, our student startup community and resource center for mentoring, competitions and more.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
You will learn that entrepreneurship as a habit of mind that applies to both your career and your life. Entrepreneurship is about being proactive, optimistic and innovative. Our holistic approach to teaching this challenges you to think and act as an entrepreneur within companies, startups or self-employment.
We have developed a curriculum that teaches resilience, collaboration, negotiation and communication. You can learn how to start something, secure funding, and build a team. We stress interdisciplinary work and flexibility with all Drexel schools. By supplementing coursework with other schools, we teach you how to think entrepreneurially and collaborate with other students.
Learning entrepreneurship is about building a set of skills for your career. Students take several different pathways upon graduation including employment in small and large companies, continuing on the startup they launched in college, working in the family firm, and working in non-profit enterprises.
WHO SHOULD ENROLL?
We are for all types of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs can’t be defined in a single way (we call them personas) and we’ve built our curriculum that teaches and develops entrepreneurial skillsets that help you develop and apply your skills no matter the type of entrepreneur.
You might see yourself in one or more of these personas (and know that these can change in anyone over time):

Seeker – want to use their time to explore a wide variety of ideas and ambitions

Impactor – want to make the world a better place through socially minded endeavors and sees college as a great place to do this

Creator – building their brand and creations, often solo entrepreneurs, doing their own thing

Careerist – more comfortable with a future inside organizations but don't want to take the typical challenging business/financial route

Builder – want to get things done; maybe tech-oriented and is ready to build things to solve problems or capitalize on new opportunities

Family – future is in the family business and want to learn the skills to take it to the next level
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this an in-person, online or combination program?
Currently, this is an in-person program.
Can you pursue a minor in another field?
All Charles D. Close School majors are required to take a minor as part of their plan of study.
Are Co-ops or internships a part of the program or required?
This program provides the flexibility to participate in three Co-op cycles for a 5-year plan of study, or you can complete your studies in 4 years with or without one traditional Co-op cycle.
