Civic engagement is embedded in all that we do at Drexel University, from how we conduct business, to how we teach and learn, to the hands-on support we provide to community partners.

Drexel collaborates with nonprofit organizations, public and private schools, and local government agencies to provide more than 150 unique civic engagement opportunities for our students every year. We have developed an employee volunteer program that gives all employees 16 paid hours each year to use in service opportunities, either as individuals or as department-wide projects. Our students and faculty are always looking for ways to establish creative collaboration with our campus neighbors.

The Office of University and Community Partnerships, through its Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships and its Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, supports the civic engagement ambitions of Drexel's academic departments and faculty. Whether by supporting program development at the Dornsife Center's location in the heart of the Promise Zone, or course development resources through the Lindy Center, we work to infuse Drexel's civic engagement mission into how we teach and learn.

UCP's Action for Early Learning, Digital On-Ramps, and Promise Neighborhood initiatives each offer opportunities for students, faculty, and staff inside Drexel to work in partnership with West Philadelphia neighborhood partners and residents. And Drexel administrative offices and programs like Human Resources and Drexel Green reinforce our university-wide commitment to partnership.
