2500 Years of Marathon

The College of Arts and Sciences and the Greek Studies program will host “Battle of Marathon 2500 Year Anniversary” with Dr. Gonda Van Steen, Andronicos Nicholas Cassas Chair in Greek Studies and associate professor in the Department of Classics and Center for Greek Studies at the University of Florida, on Thursday, November 18, 2010 from noon to 2 p.m. in MacAlister Hall, room 2019/2020 (33rd and Chestnut Streets).
For the fifth consecutive year, Dr. Maria Hnaraki, director of Greek Studies, will welcome a senior visiting scholar in the University Seminars Program of the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation. Steen's talk will celebrate the “Battle of Marathon 2500 Year Anniver-sary” and coincide with the Philadelphia Independence Marathon. The Greek Studies Program invites the Drexel community to a journey through history.
