Minor in International Studies

About the Minor

The minor in International Area Studies is open to all disciplines and is well suited for students studying abroad, and for those who want to add an international component to their major. Completion of level 201 in a language is a prerequisite for the minor. Students who elect an International Area Studies minor must take 24 credits of literature, history, politics, social theory and/or business courses in their area of specialization.

Requirements for the minor include:

  • Completion of Level 201 or higher in a language
  • WMST 240
  • IAS 360
  • One course of "Area Specific" History
  • 15 distribution elective credits
