Lessons Learned: Reflections on a Third Co-op with Jason Ngov of Drexel CCI

Jason Ngov

According to CCI student Jason Ngov, a third Drexel Co-op was an opportunity to work in a new industry alongside passionate colleagues.

Jason Ngov, a Drexel College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) Computer Science major, wrapped up his third co-op with the Susquehanna International Group (SIG) during the 2022 winter term.

Ngov worked closely with the equities team to provide appropriate equity applications to clients. During his time with the group, Ngov’s biggest milestone was creating Fixate, a proprietary application he built with his team to calculate the profits and losses for institutional brokerage clients.

Working at SIG gave Ngov exposure to the industry and the opportunity to work with intelligent and passionate people whom he described as “infectious.”

“The team liked me so much that they invited me to work part-time next quarter during classes, so I’ll actually be working 35 hours at SIG while also taking full-time classes,” Ngov said.

Ngov’s advice to first-time co-op students is to be passionate, curious, and intentional in the role they are going into.
