"Managing The Food Environment: A Workshop on Healthy Eating and Weight"
(Tuesday, 12pm-1pm) September 7th, 2010
Having trouble maintaining a healthy lifestyle because of a busy schedule or stress? Having difficulty picking healthy foods when being social and eating out? It's never too late to get healthy! Navigating a world filled with McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, barbecues, dinner parties, holiday celebrations, and birthday cake can be successful! This workshop will address strategies to create a healthier lifestyle. The latest scientifically-supported nutrition principles can help to make eating more healthful, enjoyable, and realistic as part of a busy life.

How to Make Your Relationship Work

Want to increase your ability to resolve the conflicts in your relationship? In this workshop, you can learn how to settle disagreements without escalating conflict. Coping with the Quarter-Life Crisis

During this workshop we will discuss the “Quarter-Life Crisis.” We will give you an idea of what to expect as college or graduate school comes to an end, as well as offer positive coping strategies to utilize as you deal with the inevitable stress and excitement that comes with this next stage in your life.

"Sleeping Better Toolkit"
(Monday 2pm-3pm) December 13th, 2010
This workshop will provide a brief overview of what's considered "normal" sleep as well as common sleep disorders. We will also provide you with a "toolbox" of the most empirically supported behavioral sleep medicine treatments for insomnia and delayed sleep phase disorder endorsed by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The workshop will also provide an overview of a behavioral sleep medicine intervention for chronic nightmares.

Building Courage to Do the Right Thing

Psychological testing: who needs it, what is it, and why?

This workshop will address practical issues involving
psychological/neuropsychological testing and will discuss what signs may indicate the necessity for an individual to seek testing services. The workshop will also discuss the consequences of being tested as well as descriptions of results as it might pertain to students or faculty members.

Just say ‘NO!’: An Assertiveness Training Workshop
(Tuesday 12pm-1pm) April 5th, 2011
Do you find yourself overcommitted and at the bottom of your own priority list? Do you avoid confrontation or suppress your opinion because you worry about offending others? We all know it can be a challenge to find that middle ground between aggression and passivity. Assertiveness skills can help! A polite but assertive ‘no’ to excessive requests will enable you to avoid overloading your schedule and promote balance in your life. In this workshop, we will address techniques that will help you express your feelings, opinions, and needs in a respectful and effective manner. Learn how to act on your conviction, set your own boundaries, and take back control of your own life!

"Are you feeling overwhelmed? Is the stress of work or school getting you down? As the stress
of another semester builds, this workshop aims to help you identify and cope with the stress of burnout. Burnout and its warning signs will be reviewed. Strategies that can help you cope effectively with burnout-related stress will be presented."
