Dr. Pamela A. Geller is an Assistant Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology and Director of the Student Counseling Center. Dr. Geller teaches "Psychopathology of Adults" and "Clinical Practicum Seminar" and is the Practicum Coordinator for the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology. As Director of the Student Counseling Center, she is the supervisor for all clinical staff.
Dr. Geller received her B.A. (in Art and Biology) and B.S. (in Psychology) from Newcomb College of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Kent State University in Kent, OH, and completed a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellowship in Psychiatric Epidemiology at the Joseph L. Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University in New York, NY.
Dr. Geller's research interests involve the association between stressful life events and mental and physical health outcomes, and the role of personal and social resources as moderators of stress. Her work has focused on differences within and between different ethnic groups, as well as on women's health issues, including women's reproductive health. She also has been involved with the development of preventive intervention programs.
Dr. Geller's work has been published in professional journals, and has been presented at both national and international conferences. Dr. Geller is an Editor of the "Health Psychology" volume for the upcoming 12 volume series, "Comprehensive Handbook of Psychology," being published by Wiley in 2002.
