Jeffrey Bonfield came to Drexel from the Center for Literacy, where he taught basic education and English as a second language classes. He began working in the Center for Academic Success as the Tutor Coordinator. He developed an online tutor training course as an Associate Instructor in the Health and Society Programs. Jeff currently teaches fundamentals courses for the Health Educationa and Related Training (HEART) Program.
Jeff is an Associate Director of the AES/Act 101 program, an opportunity program for Pennsylvania residents. He coordinates the America Reads/America Counts program, which sends work-study and volunteer students, faculty and staff to local sites to help elementary school students improve their reading skills. Jeff also acts as the Center City Hahnemann Campus liaison to the Office of Disability Services.
Jeff, in conjunction with professors from the School of Public Health, is conducting an evaluation of Congreso de Latinos Unidos' Boys' and Girls' Centers. There, adjudicated youth are enrolled in an extended day program as an alternative to residency programs.
