Facilities
The major facility of the Hospitality Management department is a 14,000-square-foot
space that includes two state-of-the-art commercial kitchens; two fine
dining rooms that seat 125 people; a state-of-the-art computer classroom
and technical center; The
Academic Bistro (student run restaurant & lounge); conference
room; and the Center for the Study of Food and Wine, which presently holds
over 2,000 cookbooks. A culinary demonstration theater, classrooms, and
faculty offices are located in Ross Commons and the Academic Building.
Philadelphia Location
A unique feature of the Hospitality Managment program at Drexel is
that it is located in Philadelphia, with close proximity to New York
City, Baltimore, and Washington, as well as the resort centers on the
Atlantic seacoast and in the Pocono Mountains. These regions include
hundreds of hotels, restaurants, and resorts that are used for field
trips
and campus visits by hospitality resource people. Students also gain
hands-on hotel sales experience through faculty-directed field trips
throughout the region.
