Facilities

Department computers are accessible from residence halls over the campus network, and from off-campus via modem or Internet Service Provider (ISP). Students have access to an impressive range of equipment and software.

Departmental and University networks provide access to the Internet and the Pennsylvania Education Network (PrepNET). Departmental research computers have a connection to the campus backbone at 100 Mbps and are also on the vBNS via a campus OCS ATM connection.

Facilities include one UNIX file server and one UNIX compute server. There is a PC (Windows NT) lab and several pen tablet PCs and Macs for student use. Research
