45.0 quarter credits

The M.H.S. degree is
a professional degree in rehabilitation sciences open to therapists and other rehabilitation specialists seeking leadership roles in clinical practice as well as in the broader health care community. The focus of the MHS degree is on evidence-based practice in three concentrations including Hand and Upper Quarter Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, and Orthopedics. Graduates are expected to be critical consumers of new research, demonstrate leadership in implementation and evaluation of clinical or client services, and become competent clinical educators.

  • Improve their practice through clinical decision-making that is consistent with concepts of health promotion, client-centered care and current best evidence.
  • Facilitate the transfer of health care policy and research findings into clinical practice.
  • Evaluate methods of service delivery and intervention strategies and procedures at individual and program levels.
