M.S.N. Nurse Practitioner Programs:
Adult Acute Care Practitioner Track

55 quarter credits; 640 clinical hours

The online Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program is designed to prepare practitioners for professional practice in the management of medical, surgical, and critical-care adult patient populations. Didactic and seminar courses provide a knowledge base for the management of adult complex acute, critical, and chronic health care conditions. Clinical practicum rotations allow students to put the principles they have learned into practice in medical, surgical, and critical care settings. Upon completing the program, graduates pursue practice roles across the continuum of acute care services ranging from high-acuity hospital based emergency or intensive care settings to specialty based practices. Graduates are eligible to sit for ANCC’s Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification Examination.

The nurse practitioner faculty are committed to quality and excellence in the online nurse practitioner (NP) programs.  Campus visits are essential to students transitioning into the NP role. Students meet on campus for 10 days at the beginning of the clinical practicum rotations and for one week at the end of the clinical practicum rotations. The residencies afford faculty the opportunity to provide students with direct support, guidance, and mentoring while they provide students with the opportunity to interact with faculty and collaborate with peers.  The on-campus visits allow faculty to ensure that 1) students are adequately prepared to enter the clinical environment and 2) that students are adequately prepared to graduate from the program.

For information about the online delivery format of this program, visit Drexel's Online M.S.N. Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner web page.
