Music Industry

Opportunities

Drexel’s music major prepares students for employment in the music industry in such diverse positions as recording engineer, artist manager, music producer, MIDI producer, sound engineer, sound designer, or music software programmer. Graduates may attend law school in order to become entertainment or copyright attorneys. Others may prefer to attend graduate school to study music technology,
electronic arts, or advanced topics in music composition, music theory, musicology, arts administration, or systematic musicology.

Music graduates are now pursuing jobs in recording studios, sound engineering firms, and with the U.S. government. Others play in their own bands or work as freelance sound technicians.

Visit the Drexel Steinbright Career Development Center page for more detailed information on co-op and post-graduate opportunities.
