Materials Engineering

The graduate program in Materials Engineering provides students a through grounding in the fundamental behavior of the structure and properties of ceramics, metals and polymers. Emphasis is also given to the advanced modeling and experimental characterization of materials, and to the application of concepts and basic principles in the selection, design, processing and use of engineering materials.

The PhD program is offered on a full-time basis, and the MS program is offered on a full-time or part-time basis. Doctoral program students must pass a candidacy examination.
