Throughout the finance
curriculum, students develop and apply quantitative skills for financial
decision making within the business environment.
The concentration prepares students for careers in private business firms, including
positions involving forecasting and budgeting for financial resources, cost-effectiveness
analysis, control of expenditures, evaluation and financing of new projects,
and evaluation of alternative methods of financing; in the investment field,
including positions in banks, brokerage houses, and financial institutions that
participate in the various money and capital markets; and in the public sector,
including positions at the federal, state, and local government levels.
