2014 Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Alumni Lecture
Thursday, April 24, 2014
4:00 PM-5:00 PM
Please join the Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department for the 2014 Alumni Engineering Lecture featuring Marleen A. Troy, Ph.D., P.E.
“Dragon Kinetics” – An Empirical Model to Describe the Growth of an Environmental Engineer
Dr. Troy will discuss her experience as a graduate student at Drexel during the 1980s and will pay tribute to her major advisor, Dr. Wesley O. Pipes. She will also discuss her evolution from student to a practicing engineer involved in the bioremediation of hazardous waste sites to her current position as an environmental
engineering professor. “Dragon Kinetics” and examples of her experiences and current research transitioning from remediating “end-of-pipe” environmental problems to learning how to get “rid of that pipe” and thinking and operating sustainably will be presented.
Dr. Troy is currently an Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering and the Director of the Sustainability Management Certificate Program at Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
This annual lecture is made possible by the generosity of Wesley O. Pipes and Jane Pipes.
If questions or to confirm your attendance (RSVP optional), you can contact Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org. Refreshments to be served.
