Please describe your co-op experience.  Include where you worked, a brief description of your duties, and what you learned.

My co-op experiences have been with Capital Project Management, Inc. (CPMI) in Blue Bell, PA and PHH Corporation in Mt. Laurel, NJ.  As a construction analyst at CPMI I created and compiled documents used during construction disputes.  At PHH, I utilized six sigma methodologies to streamline processes within various departments of the organization.

Describe any extracurricular activities that you participate in.

I have found the best way of surviving at Drexel is getting involved in extracurricular activities.  I am currently a student member of Drexel’s ASCE chapter, AEI Chapter and Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Fraternity.   Based out of ASCE, I am involved in Drexel’s Concrete Canoe Team.  Other activities I am involved in are mentoring at a local area elementary school and participating in the Drexel Dance Ensemble.

Explain what you would like to do after graduation.

After graduation, my goal is to be working and volunteering in the Philadelphia area.   After volunteering with elementary school students, I have developed an interest in working on a program that brings students and professionals together.  For my professional goals I am still finding my niche.  From my co-ops I have developed an interest in consulting/claims and infrastructure analysis.

Explain what you like about Drexel’s Engineering Program.

Drexel’s engineering program utilizes its resources to bring the professional world to its students.  Through co-op, we get direct exposure to what it is like working in the industry.  The tours set up by various organizations allow students to see how engineering has improved our campus and the Philadelphia area.  Any other activities such as guest speakers or career fairs keep students interacting with professionals.
