Drexel Dance/Movement Therapy Alumnae Presents Research About Female Veterans

Philadelphia, PA, March 2, 2012 — On March 2, 2012, Melissa Nedza, a 2011 Dance/Movement Therapy alumnae, presented on a panel “What Do You Really Know about GI Jane?” sponsored by the Office of Veteran Student Services at the James E. Marks Intercultural Center, Drexel University.

Melissa presented her thesis research “The Experience of Female Combat Veterans Transitioning to Civilian Life: Implications for Dance/Movement Therapy.”   The study involved phenomenological verbal and movement based interviews that explored and described the lived experience of two female veterans in the transition between deployment and return home. 

Melissa also presented a poster of her research at the American Dance Therapy Association Conference in Minneapolis in October 2011.
