Young Alumni Association
Founded by a group of recent graduates in 1993, the Young Alumni Association serves as a support system for Drexel's young alumni – graduates of the past 10 years – offering networking, social and volunteer opportunities that encourage alumni to remain connected to the university. Today, the Young Alumni Association continues to grow, as it increases programming and participation with the Drexel community. Coming Soon ... Stay tuned for more information about our Spring 2009 How-To Series! This special series for young alumni consists of three seminars on a variety of topics, including buying a home, work/life balance and personal finance. At each seminar, there will be a how-to speaker or panel presentation along with a networking reception. If you have suggestions for future How-To seminars, please send your topic ideas to Louisa Sassi '08 at sassi@drexel.edu. Join the young alumni team in the University City 5K Run during Alumni Weekend on Saturday, May 2, 2009. The event benefits the Nicholas P. Pipino Memorial Scholarship for Drexel students and includes awards for all age groups in both the male and female categories. Be a runner in the race, volunteer to staff the event or help raise funds for the scholarship as a member of the Young Alumni 5K Team! Recent Events The Young Alumni Association hosted a social networking night on September 25, 2008, at Sláinte Pub & Grill in Philadelphia for alumni, seniors and graduate students. Our next networking night with seniors and graduate students will be on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Mikey’s American Grill and Sports Bar following the Homecoming men’s basketball game. Young alumni from Drexel, Penn, Princeton, and other area colleges recently gathered for a happy hour at Yakitori Boy on December 11, 2008. The evening included karaoke, drink specials, and lots of fun at the Chinatown hot spot in Philadelphia. The next networking happy hour with area colleges will be at Public House in Philadelphia on Thursday, February 12, 2009.
