Biological/Chemical Weapons

In the event of a chemical or biological attack, University and Public Officials will instruct you on what action steps should be taken. Be prepared to evacuate the immediate area, take shelter, and seal the shelter area the best you can.

Anyone who comes in contact with a chemical or biological agent should get immediate medical attention.

Prepare For A Biological/Chemical Attack

  • Prepare a Disaster Supply Kit
    • First aid kit
    • Non-perishable foods and water
    • Sanitation supplies
  • Get a battery-powered radio
  • Create a safe room

What To Do During An Attack

  • Do not panic - remain calm
  • Seek immediate shelter
  • "Shelter In Place"
  • "Dirty Bomb" attack - below ground shelter
  • Keep doors and windows closed
  • Listen to the radio - wait for instructions
  • Stay inside until the all clear signal
