President's Welcome

At Drexel University, good citizenship is a priority. We strive to be an exemplary institutional citizen of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the nation, and to provide our students with opportunities for civic involvement. We are proud to prepare outstanding professionals, and equally proud to prepare excellent citizens for tomorrow's society. From federal research projects to public school consulting and community health centers, Drexel thrives on strong collaborations with government and community organizations. Many of these projects create learning opportunities for our students, faculty and staff. For example, Drexel hosts government officials, including members of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation, to participate in the Public Policy Forum (PPF), an engaging civic opportunity for students and staff alike to debate current political issues. We have also established successful partnerships with our neighbors throughout Philadelphia, such as the University City District (UCD) and the Powelton Village Civic Association (PVCA), to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods. The hub for Drexel's civic initiatives is the Office of Government and Community Relations, led by Vice President Brian T. Keech.
