Public Policy Forum (PPF)

We are home to the Public Policy Forum, an interactive meeting of elected officials, foreign dignitaries and other important public figures, designed to provide students, faculty and members of the local community with an opportunity to hear and express different viewpoints regarding today's "hot button" issues. On a larger scale, Drexel University has been host to exciting major events such as the Comedy Central Republican National Convention reception, Pennsylvania Gubernatorial Speakers, and Philadelphia Mayoral Debates.

OGCR hosted a Public Policy Forum on ‘Leadership Challenges in Politics and Business.’ This time the forum’s keynote presenter was the Honorable Arlen Specter, U.S. Senator of Pennsylvania and Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary. More than 400 students, faculty and staff attended the event. Senator Specter highlighted challenges politicians and businesses face today in the United States and abroad.

The Office of Government and Community Relations in collaboration with CNN were able to host at Drexel University CNN’s Fit Nation program which was presented by Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Fit Nation is a nationwide initiative to encourage Americans to adopt healthier lifestyles and combat obesity. Former United States President William Jefferson Clinton was the featured guest and discussed his efforts to promote healthier lifestyles for Americans. Among the guest panelists was Drexel University’s Dean of the School of Public Health, Dr. Marla Gold.
