Drexel and Mantua “Celebrate Health”

The eleventh annual “Celebrate Health” Fair was held on Saturday, May 16th in Mantua at the West Philadelphia Community Center from noon to 3:00 p.m. This was the fourth year that the fair was conducted in Mantua. A festive atmosphere was created with music and drum circles, balloons, multiple children’s activities, clowns, Mario the Dragon, line dancing, neighborhood drum corps and steppers. Free hot food, beverages, and t-shirts were provided and drawings for donated prizes were conducted throughout the fair.

This was the largest “Celebrate Health” Fair to date, with over 550 people participating. Approximately 300 residents (many of whom were children) attended, and more than 200 Drexel faculty, staff and students along with 60 people from external organizations provided screening and/or education on over 55 topics.
