Did You Know?
The Drexel University College of Medicine Human Resources Department has compiled some neat facts that may be useful information to all current employees. We will be updating this page on a monthly basis.
Please feel free to send us 'Did You Know' tidbits of information using our Suggestions/Feedback link on our home page. We will update this page on a monthly basis.

- Drexel University has joined 45 other institutional employers in the city by partnering with Work Ready Philadelphia to make a difference for Philadelphia 's youth.
- WorkReady Philadelphia offers high-quality work experiences for more than 8,000 youth each year through a variety of programs. Drexel has historically participated in Shadowing Day and Take Our Child to Work Day, and has hosted pre-employment summits and workshops for the Summer Internship Program on the Center City Campus.
- This year Drexel's Human Resources department and Office of Government & Community Relations are co-sponsoring Drexel's participation in the WorkReady Philadelphia Summer Internship Program. Interested departments are encouraged to give youth an opportunity to get a head start in the working world by hiring a youth for 20 hours a week at minimum wage for 6 weeks Mondays - Thursdays from July 6 to August 12. Youth ages range from 16-21 yrs and they are required to have a resume and prior work experience. Youth are prescreened by WorkReady staff and Drexel departments will be able to interview and select their student. The cost to the department would be $1,190.
- Drexel faculty and staff can also support the WorkReady Philadelphia Summer Internship program by serving as volunteer presenters for the job readiness summits scheduled for June 18 and 25, or for the Friday workshops scheduled during the summer.
- For more information on hiring a student or serving as a presenter, please contact Ann Marie Rock via email at an21@drexel.edu or at 215-895-2777 or Cynthia Livingston Cynthia.Livingston@DrexelMed.edu or at 215-762-8120.
