The Anthony J. Drexel Exceptional Achievement Award - Honoring Researchers Who Are Making a Difference

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Eligibility

  • Nominees must be faculty members currently employed at an institution of higher education or a non-profit research institution in the United States.
  • The recipient must be available for the presentation of the award at Drexel's Commencement in mid-June and for post-award academic activities including a one-week residency at Drexel in fall 2010.
  • Drexel University faculty members are not eligible.

Selection Criteria for 2010

  • Impact of individual's research on advancing civil engineering practice
  • Scientific/technological productivity and impact as evidenced by publications, presentations, citations, awards, patents, research funding and technology transfer
  • Effectiveness in translating basic research and development of new technology to practice
  • Impact on education, training and mentorship of students and other individuals
  • Recognition in the broader community
  • Impact on institution's ability to grow research
