The Anthony J. Drexel Exceptional Achievement Award - Honoring Researchers Who Are Making a Difference

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Eligibility

  • Nominees must be faculty members currently employed at an institution of higher education or a non-profit research institution in the United States.
  • The recipient must be available for the presentation of the award and for post-award academic activities including a one-week residency at Drexel in Fall 2009.
  • Drexel University faculty members are not eligible.

Selection Criteria for 2009

  • Impact of individual's research and discovery on new medical treatments to address societal needs
  • Scientific/technological productivity and impact as evidenced by publications, presentations, citations, awards, patents, research funding and commercialization
  • Effectiveness in translating basic research and development of new technology to clinical trials and/or treatment approaches
  • Impact on education, training and mentorship of students and other individuals to further impact the area of translational research
  • Recognition in the broader community
  • Impact on institution's ability to grow translational research
