Nominees must be faculty members currently employed at an institution of higher education or a non-profit research institution in the United States.
The recipient must be available for the presentation of the award and for post-award academic activities including a one-week residency at Drexel in Fall 2009.
Drexel University faculty members are not eligible.
Selection Criteria for 2009
Impact of individual's research and discovery on new medical treatments to address societal needs
Scientific/technological productivity and impact as evidenced by publications, presentations, citations, awards, patents, research funding and commercialization
Effectiveness in translating basic research and development of new technology to clinical trials and/or treatment approaches
Impact on education, training and mentorship of students and other individuals to further impact the area of translational research
Recognition in the broader community
Impact on institution's ability to grow translational research
