| ADMISSION
Admission into either the Graduate Intern Certificate Program or the Masters of Science Degree program, follows the same general policy for all applicants who apply to Drexel University for graduate admission. Please refer to the current published graduate catalog for complete information. Requirements for entrance into a School of Education graduate program include an overall grade point average of 3.0 in the equivalent of the candidates last 60 credits of course work. In addition, the candidate must have the equivalent of a 3.0 grade point average in the content courses required in the area of certification toward which they will be working. This is determined during a required Intake Advisement Session the candidate has with a School of Education advisor prior to the candidates application to the program. Acceptance into the School of Educations graduate program coincides with the acceptance into the Schools Teacher Certification Program. During the Intake Advisement Session, a School of Education advisor reviews the candidates past experience and credentials including transcripts and relevant course descriptions to outline a detailed, term-by-term Program of Study for program completion. If a candidate does not meet entrance requirements, the advisor will map out a Program of Study whereby the candidate takes additional undergraduate content coursework as a non-matriculated student in order to raise the overall and/or certification content grade point average to meet the admission criteria. A candidate is not considered enrolled in the Teacher Certification Program until he or she has been accepted into a School of Education graduate program. Candidates also may not take pedagogy or any graduate level course until they have met the entrance requirements. |
