The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Sport Management at Goodwin College is designed for students who plan to pursue careers in sports-oriented organizations, health and wellness, or recreation industries. The sport management major draws on the strengths of many of Drexel University's academic programs, including psychology, communications, health sciences, athletics, and business administration.

The sport management curriculum integrates applicable areas of learning in order to prepare students with the tools to excel in the diverse sport industry. Areas of study include biology, nutrition, human performance, psychology, athletics, and business management. The program uses a multidisciplinary approach to help students gain an understanding of management in the sport industry. This approach looks at sport from the following perspectives:

  • Athletics and human performance
  • Sport and the psycho-socio-cultural process
  • Sport as an industry

Students will also enhance this knowledge through the development of important supporting skills in technology and interpersonal communications. The sport management program emphasizes the practical application of skills to the solution of problems in the following areas:

  • Management of sports
  • Athletics
  • Recreation on the professional, amateur, and community levels
