Curriculum
The B.S. in Sport Management consists of 181 credits, 47 of which are in general education courses and 43 of which are core courses on the foundations of sport management. For the remaining credits, students may take 30 credits of free electives, which may be used to complete a minor. The balance of the program is based on technical elective courses from four major concentrations:
- Athletics, Health and Human Performance (15 credits)
- The Business of Sport (15 credits)
- Sport and the Psycho-Socio-Cultural Process (15 credits)
- Technology for Sport Management (16 credits)
Degree Completion Options
The Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management can be completed in either four or five years:
- Five-year option, with cooperative learning (co-op) experience - allows for the greatest amount of employment experience, with three distinct six-month periods of employment included with studies. After the start of the sophomore year, students study or work through all terms, including summers.
- Four-year option, with internship experience - includes just one six-month period of full-time employment during the junior year. After the start of the sophomore year, students study or work through all terms, including summers.
